Did you know:

Willow bark has been used as a traditional medicine for more than 3500 years.

The ancient Sumerians and Egyptians used willow bark to treat pain, inflamation and fever. This wonderful remedy spread across Europe and China.

Native Americans uncovered vital uses in every part of this tree: the leaves and bark were brewed into a medicinal tea, the branches were made into arrow shafts, and the twigs were fanned into paint brushes. In addition, willows were utilized by Native Americans to make baskets, beds, and even dreamcatchers.

It was in 1862 when scientists discovered the active agent within willow bark was salicin, which would later form the basis of the discovery of aspirin.
